Marissa Steingold: Vocals

Vocalist Marissa Steingold was born in Paris, France and grew up in Washington, D.C. A graduate of Princeton University, majoring in Musical Composition and Vocal Jazz Performance,  New England Conservatory with Master’s  in Vocal Jazz and Composition,  and  UCLA, with a PhD in Musicology, she has  received numerous accolades including the Sachs Prize and the Downbeat Magazine Award. Ms. Steingold’s performances aired on PBS and NPR.

After moving to Los Angeles Marissa became a SAG vocalist for film, television and commercials. An impressively versatile performer and improviser, Ms. Steingold regularly records jazz, classical, klezmer, pop, R&B, muddle-eastern, country, and rock. She is the “real”  virtuosic voice of Teen Queen Hillary Duff in the film “Raise your voices” and has performed in numerous commercials, including Mercedes Benz, Motorola, Chevrolet and others.Marissa performs her quirky original music and lyrics in concerts and jazz clubs across the country and Europe.

She resides in Los Angeles, where she currently teaches at UCLA.
